Assure respondents that no trace of them is stored.

🕶️ What anonymous means, exactly

With "Anonymous survey" on, the IP address, browser and device, the page the respondent came from, screen size, time zone and device fingerprint are not stored; only the device type (phone or computer) is kept for reports.

At the top of the form, respondents are told: "This survey is anonymous; your IP address and device details are not stored."

⚙️ Turning it on

  1. 1 Open the form or survey and go to the "Settings" tab → "Anonymous survey" card Not available for exams.
  2. 2 Turn on the switch and click "Republish" It isn't applied to the link until you publish.
It's free, and reports work as before.

⚠️ What breaks anonymity

If the form itself asks for a name, national ID, mobile number or email, the answer is stored like any other response; the card also warns you in this case.

Mobile number verification with an SMS code keeps the verified number with the response, so responses are no longer anonymous. "One response per code" also keeps the code itself.

For "once per person" in an anonymous survey, turn on "One response per person (browser-based)"; it stays anonymous. "Capture respondent location" is also left out in an anonymous form.

In very small groups, report breakdowns (e.g. a unit with two people) can reveal individuals; ask about broader groups.
