Results for the respondent: score, level and psychology tests

Show the score and interpretation to respondents after they submit; Likert and psychology tests, standard templates and overall charts.

Go to templates

🎯 Four ways, from simple to complete

1) “Show score after submission”: the total of the option scores appears on the thank-you page as “Your score: …”.

2) Score and level with a calculated field: “Your score is 24 out of 30: high”, in your own sentence on the thank-you page.

3) “Standard questionnaires” templates: both are prebuilt — score, level and interpretation for the respondent.

4) Charts of all responses (not their own result): the report's “Public link” in the thank-you page's “Redirect URL”.

All of these work on the free account, except the custom dashboard in option four. Exams in “Exams” are for right-or-wrong questions; their results are covered in the guide “Exam results: who sees them, when and where”.

🔢 Option scores and “Show score after submission”

  1. 1 Click a “Single choice”, “Multiple choice” or “Segmented buttons” question and open “Option details” under “Options”
  2. 2 Enter a “Score” for each option For example “Strongly agree” 5 to “Strongly disagree” 1; give reversed items reversed scores. The option gets a “… points” badge.
  3. 3 In the editor, “Settings” mode → “Thank-you page”, turn on “Show score after submission” Works on forms, surveys and quizzes.
You can also add or subtract points for a specific answer with the “Score” action in the “Logic” tab. A “Score” column also appears in the “Responses” table.

🧮 Score and level on the thank-you page

  1. 1 Add a “Calculated field” from the “Automatic & system” group and set its formula to SCORE() “Current response score” = the total of the option scores. Turn off “Show in form” so respondents don't see it while filling in. Note its key, for example total.
  2. 2 For the level, build a second calculated field with IF For example IF({{total}} >= 20, "high", IF({{total}} >= 10, "medium", "low")); its key is, say, level.
  3. 3 Write the “Title” or “Message” of the “Thank-you page” with the keys For example “Your score is {{total}} out of 30; level: {{level}}”. The server recalculates the formulas before building this page.
The same keys are also filled in the “Message text” of “Receipt for the respondent” (the “Email notification” card), so the result reaches their email too.
“Single-choice matrix” and “Scale” aren't counted in SCORE(): for “Scale” write SUM({{q1}}, {{q2}}) in the formula; for scored Likert items, “Single choice” or “Segmented buttons” works better.
For a different message by score, put that IF text field on a single thank-you page; a “Multiple endings” condition on the score relies on the value sent by the browser, and the standard templates don't use it either.

🧠 Psychology and Likert tests (no right or wrong answers)

Build a test without right or wrong answers with “New form” and the “Survey” type, not with “Exams”: items as “Single choice” or “Segmented buttons” with a score per option, the score with SCORE() and the interpretation with IF (the two sections above). For statistics, charts and descriptive statistics for every question in “Reports” are free.

Faster: the “Standard questionnaires” category in “Templates” has twenty ready instruments with automatic scoring and interpretation — from the Rosenberg self-esteem scale, PHQ-9, GAD-7 and the Cohen stress scale to the Mini-IPIP Big Five personality questionnaire; the site's “Standard questionnaires” page has a guide for each. Click “Use this template”, publish and send the link.

It works on the free account too; the form just has to stay under the “Questions per form” and “Pages per form” limits (calculated fields and “Text / image” count as well).
These instruments are for screening, not diagnosis; for formal research, cite the normed Persian version.

📊 Charts of all responses for the respondent

  1. 1 In the “Dashboard” tab, click “Public link” → “Create link” “Only aggregated charts are shown; raw responses never leave through this link.”
  2. 2 Put the generated address in “Thank-you page” → “Redirect URL (optional)” After submitting, the respondent goes to the charts of all responses.
Without a custom dashboard the public link shows only the “Overview” (counters, trend, devices); per-question charts need a dashboard, which requires “Pro” or “School” and above.
