Free QR code generator
Choose the content type and fill in the details; the QR code is built instantly and you download it as PNG or SVG. Everything is generated in your own browser, and Wi-Fi passwords or contact details are never sent to any server.

Enter the address of a page, form or profile.
A higher level copes better with scratches and stains but makes the code denser. M suits most uses.
Version 2 · 25×25 modules · 19 bytes · level M
Text inside the QR code
https://porsino.comHow the QR code is made
Choose the content type
Link, text, Wi-Fi, phone, SMS, email or business card. Each type produces the standard text that phone cameras recognise.
Fill in the details
The preview updates as you type. A link without “https://” is completed for you, and Persian digits in phone numbers are converted to Latin.
Set error correction and colours
Level M is enough for most uses. If you change the colours, the tool measures the contrast and warns about colours that are too light or inverted.
Download and test
PNG for messengers and websites, SVG for print at any size. Before a large print run, scan the code with two or three different phones.
Example: for a café's guest Wi-Fi with the network name Cafe-Guest, password chai1405 and WPA security, the tool puts this 36-byte text in the QR code:
Text inside a Wi-Fi QR code
WIFI:T:WPA;S:Cafe-Guest;P:chai1405;;T is the security type, S the network name and P the password
With error correction level M, the result is a version 3 QR code with 29×29 modules. Guests point their phone camera at it and the phone offers to join the network, without typing the password.
What each type of QR code contains
| Type | Text inside the QR code | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Link (URL) | https://… | A web page, form, menu, profile or file |
| Text | The text itself | A short message, a discount code or a product note |
| Wi-Fi | WIFI:T:WPA;S:…;P:…;; | Guests join without being told the password |
| Phone | tel:+98… | One-tap calling from a card or sign |
| SMS | SMSTO:number:text | A ready-made text message, e.g. to enter a contest |
| mailto:…?subject=… | An email with the recipient and subject filled in | |
| Business card | BEGIN:VCARD … END:VCARD | Saves name, number, email and organisation to contacts |
The QR codes you make here are “static”: the content is written into the image itself and goes through no intermediate server. So they never expire and work as long as the link inside works; but once printed, their destination can't be changed. If the destination might change, point the QR code at a page whose content you control.
Error correction, size and printing
| Level | Approx. recovery | When to use it |
|---|---|---|
| L | 7% | Long content on a screen or clean paper |
| M | 15% | Default: most cards, posters and screens |
| Q | 25% | Printing on rough surfaces or where it may get dirty |
| H | 30% | Outdoor labels, tiny prints or harsh environments |
- Capacity: a QR code holds up to 2,953 bytes at level L, 2,331 bytes at level M and 1,273 bytes at level H. Each Persian letter takes two bytes, so Persian text fills it sooner.
- Shorter content means a sparser code that scans from further away and at smaller print sizes. Use a short link instead of a long one.
- As a rule of thumb, the scanning distance is about ten times the code's width: a code read from one metre away needs at least ten centimetres. On a business card, don't go below two centimetres.
- The white margin around the code (four modules) is part of the standard; this tool's files include it. When designing, don't place text or images over that margin.
Colour and contrast: do coloured QR codes scan?
Yes, given enough contrast. A scanner only tells dark from light, so a dark pattern on a light background is the safest combination. The tool computes the contrast ratio of your two colours: below 3:1 it will probably not scan, and up to 4.5:1 it is borderline. Some scanners also fail on a light pattern on a dark background (an inverted QR code).
SVG is a vector format and stays sharp at any size; give it to the printer for banners and packaging. Use PNG for messengers, slides and websites.
QR codes for forms, surveys and certificates
If you want a QR code to collect registrations, feedback or exam answers, you don't need to bring the form link here: once published, every Porsino form has a ready QR code with PNG and SVG downloads in its “Share” tab, and its short link makes the code sparser (publishing and sharing guide). Build the form with the Online form builder and put the QR code on a poster, a reception desk or a class slide; responses show up in the report as they arrive.
Certificates issued with Porsino's Online certificates also carry a verification QR code: anyone who scans it can check online that the certificate is genuine.
Frequently asked questions
Do the QR codes made here expire?
No. The content is inside the image itself and goes through no intermediate server; it works for as long as the link or details inside are valid.
Where are my Wi-Fi password and details stored?
Nowhere. The QR code is generated with JavaScript in your own browser, and no data is sent to Porsino or any other server.
Why won't my QR code scan?
It's usually one of these: low contrast or inverted colours, a print that is too small or blurry, a trimmed white margin, or long content that makes the code too dense. Try a dark pattern on a light background, a shorter link and a larger print.
Should I download PNG or SVG?
SVG for print, because it is a vector format and stays sharp at any size. PNG for messengers, slides and websites; 1024 pixels is enough for most uses.
Can a QR code contain Persian text?
Yes. The text is stored as UTF-8 and today's phone cameras display it correctly. Each Persian letter takes two bytes, so Persian text fills the code sooner than English text.
Can I see how many times it was scanned?
A static QR code has no counter, because scans don't pass through any server. If the QR code leads to a Porsino form, you see the number of responses and when each arrived in the form's report.
