Formulas and calculations
Sums, products and conditions on the user's answers — no code.
Go to forms🔢 Calculated field
Add a "Calculated field" from the "Automatic and system" category and write the formula in its settings. Its value is calculated automatically and the user can't tamper with it.
Referencing other fields with double curly braces
{{qty}} * {{unit_price}}
{{price}} * 1.10 → with 10% tax
({{a}} + {{b}}) / 2 → averageWrite the field's name exactly as its "key", not its title. If you get the key wrong, you'll get an error when saving.
🛡️ Why it's safe
Formulas run in a restricted engine that only understands math operations and allowed functions. That means no one can run arbitrary code through a formula.
The server also recomputes it, so a value tampered with in the browser is not accepted.
🔗 Using it in conditions
You can use a formula's output in conditional logic. For example, "if the total amount is over 50 million, make the proforma invoice required".
A calculated field counts as part of the form's logic; if the free account card doesn't include "Conditional logic", every plan from "Basic" and "Class" up has it.
