Custom domain: your forms on your own address

Open your forms and exams on a Porsino subdomain or your own domain (such as forms.company.ir).

Go to Custom domain

🎯 At a glance

With “Custom domain” your forms, surveys and exams open on your own address: either a Porsino subdomain (like your-name.porsino.com) or your own domain (like forms.company.ir or company.ir itself).

Porsino gets the security certificate (HTTPS) from Let's Encrypt automatically and for free, and renews it before it expires. Every form also opens on the domain at its usual address, for example forms.company.ir/f/14050620-3.

The panel, sign-in and Porsino's own pages don't open on your domain; any other address goes to the same page on porsino.com.

Adding or changing a domain needs the "Business" or "Institute" plan or one of the "Organizations & research" plans; removing it is always free.

① Porsino subdomain (the simplest way)

  1. 1 In “Settings › Custom domain”, type a name in the “Porsino subdomain” card and press “Create”. Lowercase Latin letters, digits and hyphens; names like www and admin are reserved.
  2. 2 Wait until the status turns “Active”. Porsino handles DNS and the certificate; it usually takes a few minutes.
If this card is disabled, Porsino subdomains aren't available on this server yet; connect your own domain in the meantime.

② Your own domain

  1. 1 In the “Your own domain” card type the full name (for example forms.company.ir) and press “Add”. Persian (Unicode) names are accepted too and are converted automatically to their DNS form (xn--…).
  2. 2 Add the TXT record in your domain's DNS panel: copy the name and value from the “DNS records” table. This record proves the domain is yours.
  3. 3 Add the routing record: for a subdomain such as forms.company.ir a CNAME to porsino.com, and for the domain itself (company.ir) an A record pointing to the IP address in the same table.
  4. 4 Press “Check DNS”. If the records are right, the status becomes “Issuing certificate” and shortly after “Active”; Porsino also checks by itself every few minutes.
Sample records for forms.company.ir (copy the TXT value from the table in the panel)
TXT _porsino.forms porsino-verify=…
CNAME forms porsino.com
If this name has an AAAA (IPv6) record pointing to another server, remove it; otherwise some visitors end up elsewhere and the certificate can't be issued.

☁️ On Cloudflare

  1. 1 Open the domain in Cloudflare, go to DNS › Records and click “Add record”.
  2. 2 TXT record: put the table's “Name (Host)” (for example _porsino.forms) in Name and the porsino-verify value in Content.
  3. 3 Add the CNAME record (or an A record for the domain itself) and click the orange cloud in the Proxy status column so it turns grey (“DNS only”). With the orange cloud Cloudflare sits in front of the server and your domain's certificate can't be issued.

🟦 On ArvanCloud

  1. 1 In the ArvanCloud panel, open the domain's DNS section and click “Add record”.
  2. 2 Add the TXT record with the table's name and value, and the CNAME (or A) record for the name itself.
  3. 3 Turn ArvanCloud's proxy off for this record so it is DNS only.

🏷️ In registrar and hosting panels

IRNIC and most resellers don't keep DNS records themselves; add the records wherever the domain's nameservers point (Cloudflare, ArvanCloud or your web host's DNS).

In local panels look for “DNS management” or “Records”: copy the type (TXT, CNAME or A), “Name” or “Host”, and “Value” from the table in the Porsino panel. If the panel won't accept the full name, use the “Name (Host)” column, and @ for the domain itself.

DNS changes can take up to an hour (rarely longer) to be seen everywhere; press “Check DNS” again a few minutes later.

🏠 The domain's home page

When someone opens the domain itself they see, as you choose, one of these: a list of your forms (with your brand kit's name, logo and colour), a specific form or exam, or your public resume.

For “Forms list” you either pick the forms yourself, or published forms with “Show in search engines” turned on appear automatically.

🧭 Statuses, and if it doesn't work

“Waiting for DNS”: the records aren't visible yet or aren't right; the message under the domain says which. “Issuing certificate”: DNS is right and the certificate is issued within a few minutes. “Active”: the domain works.

“Error”: certificate issuance failed several times in a row; fix the problem described in the message and press “Check again”.

"Stopped": the plan that included the custom domain has ended and visitors are sent to the same page on porsino.com; after renewal the domain becomes active again with nothing else to do.

If the domain has a CAA record, Let's Encrypt (letsencrypt.org) must be allowed in it; otherwise no certificate is issued and you'll see a message saying so.
Porsino's own domains and IP addresses can't be used as “Your own domain”; for a Porsino address use “Porsino subdomain”.
